2003: A Year of Good Plants and Good Plantings

.... The Beasleys are famous for their deciduous azaleas, and deservedly so with Transplant Nursery long being recognized as a mecca for these plants. Although the acquisitions donated by the Beasleys to the Arboretum are too numerous for me to discuss them all in detail here, the following represents the range of hybrids and species selections that were brought back.

In 1999, Transplant Nursery debuted their "Maid in the Shade" collection of hybrid native azaleas selected for floral fragrance and plant performance in shade gardens....
